Ladies Championship results: – Quarterfinals: - Linda Mathewson bt Aileen Lee 3&2, Shelagh Quinn bt Lesley Campbell 4& 2, Vicki Stevenson bt Fiona Campbell 1 up and Tricia Chillas bt Pat Morris 2&1. Semis. Linda Mathewson bt Shelagh Quinn 1 up. Tricia Chillas withdrew due to family circumstances. Final : – Linda Mathewson bt Vicki Stevenson at 19th.
In the Handicap Championship the finalists were Josie Binnie and Jacky Farrell. Both hit the ball well in a tight match with only ever 2 holes in it. Jacky was ahead early on but Josie squared the match with a birdie at the 13th and went one ahead for the first time at the 14th. The match was all square at the 18th – both players playing 3 below their handicap. They went on for 2 more holes with Josie winning at the 20th hole.
Handicap quarter finals:- Josie Binnie bt Frances McMillan 2&1, Anne Miller bt Jackie Stevenson 4&3, Jacky Farrell bt Jayne McKenzie 2&1 and Eleanor Cull bt Lorna Donaldson 5&3. Semis : - Josie Binnie bt Anne Miller 3&2 and Jacky Farrell bt Eleanor Cull 7&5. Final Josie Binnie bt Jacky Farrell at 20th.
The Bronze Championship was won by Ann Wallace defeating Jean Cockburn at the 15th hole where Ann took a bold route over the bushes at this tricky hole to land at the edge of the green. The match was played in good spirit with Ann playing a solid long game with accurate chipping and putting.
Bronze quarterfinals played earlier in June : – Kathleen Todd bt Josie Binnie, Jean Cockburn bt Moneena Peebles, Ann Wallace bt Catriona Brown and Frances Oxburgh bt Kay Malcolm. Semi finals :- Jean Cockburn bt Kathleen Todd and Ann Wallace bt Frances Oxburgh. Final Ann Wallace bt Jean Cockburn.
