Congratulations to Hugh Waters who took the trophy,
But also a bit thanks to everyone for bearing with us under difficult weather conditions and being so patient.
I would also like to thank the greens staff who worked really hard to keep a number of greens in play after the heavy rain.
Well done to all the winners and competitors and we look forward to seeing you all back next year

What a Great Weekend
170 players from over 45 clubs all over Scotland competed in the Festival Trophy on Saturday. The weather was challenging throughout the day with some heavy downpours. However all players- members and visitors- were high in praise for the condition and presentation of the course and the superb putting surfaces on all greens. Course Manager James Lindsay and his team done a magnificent job over the week-end. The CSS was 72 for members and 73 for Visitors.
Edward Shannly from Linlithgow
Home scratch player David Oates was a late starter at 1.48pm but returned a magnificent five under par score of 67 to win his first Festival Trophy. This follows on from his recent Club Strokeplay Champion win and the major disappointment -as number one seed- of being knocked out on the first round of the Club Matchplay Championship. David was four under par after six holes with birdies at the 1st,2nd, 4th and 6th.Three pars followed for an outward 32.
David dropped his only shot of the round at the short 10th hole, but recovered with further gains at the 13th after rolling in a 20 foot putt and 17th before a closing par after a missed six foot birdie putt on the last for an inward 35.
Plus one player Ryan Brown from Dunfermline GC was 3rd with a two under par 70 in halfs of 36,34 and fellow club player and one handicapper Brian Maxwell fourth with a one under par 71. Craig McCann from Dunblane New GCwas 5th on the bih on level par 72.
